Prince Abdullah Bin Mite'b Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, world acclaimed horse-rider and winner of international show-jumping event will wear Mobily logo during the forthcoming FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final in Las Vegas from April 15 to 19.
Mobily announced at a press conference here Sunday that the Dubai-based company signed a three-year contract with Prince Abdullah under which the equestrian prince will wear Mobily logo during all his equestrian activities in Saudi Arabia and abroad.
Engr. Khalid Al-Kaf, Mobily CEO, Prince Abdullah and Ahmed Hashmi, Mobily's Assistant Marketing Manager were present at the press conference.
Speaking to Saudi Gazette the young Prince said his preparations for the FEI World Cup event are well under way at a training camp in Belgium. “I am here to sign the contract with Mobily and then go back to the training camp in Belgium,” he said.
Saudi youths have been showing keen interest in equestrian sports, particularly show jumping, he said adding there has been improvement among the Saudi youths, as they are gradually getting aware of the equestrian sports.
Prince Abdullah, who is among the top 150 world ranking riders said he was optimistic of the equestrian sports to improve in Saudi Arabia.
Engr. Khalid Al-Kaf, Mobily CEO said Mobily has always been in the forefront to promote and preserve the Saudi culture. He described signing of contract with Prince Abdullah as a significant step to promote horse-riding in Saudi Arabia, which is part of the culture of Saudi society.
Al-Kaf said Mobily has been engaged in promoting and preserving the Arab culture and signing of the contract with Prince Abdullah is part of those efforts.
“We know that horse-riding is not that popular in Saudi Arabia but the sport is part of the Saudi culture, which is evident from the care given by King Abdullah to all sorts of equestrian activities in the Kingdom,” he said.
Mobily is looking forward to sign similar sponsorship contracts with a number of other sport federations that have Saudi youths as members, he said.
He said Mobily has so far signed contracts with around 14 sport federations including a six-year contract valued at SR55 million yearly with Al-Hilal Club.
Hamoud Al-Gobaini, Mobily's Corporate Communication Manager said the three-year contract with Prince Abdullah will sponsor all his equestrian activities in Saudi Arabia and outside.
He said Prince Abdullah's achievements in the field of equestrian activities have been well recognized not only in the Kingdom but also in the regional and international arena and that prompted Mobily to sign a contract with him under which the prince will wear Mobily logo on all his garments.
“It was a golden opportunity for Mobily to associate the brand name by signing a contract with Prince Abdullah, internationally acclaimed horse-rider, ” said Al-Gobaini.
Prince Abdullah is among nine out of the 14 leagues composing the FEI that have completed their qualifications and confirmed their participation in the Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final in Las Vegas.
