The Labor Office here has failed to implement a decision by the Preliminary Commission for Labor Disputes in Makkah which stated that an employee must be given back his job at a company after he was sacked arbitrarily. The failure to implement the decision of the commission comes despite the fact that the verdict became final after the legal appeal period had expired. The sacked employee, Fawwaz Sulaiman Al-Muhaiyawi, said he filed a complaint with the Governor of Yanbu after the Labor Office failed to act on the commission's decision. “The governor's office referred the complaint to the labor office which did not do anything for months,” Al-Muhaiyawi said, adding that he discovered that the company was still paying his subscription fees at the Social Security Office as if he were still an employee. He proved this with a printout from the office. Mohammad Ahmad Qarwan, Director of Labor Office here, said on the phone that he did not know anything about the case, and requested that the man be sent to him with the complaint so he could “see what can be done for him.”
