The President of Saudi Telecom (STC) and members of the company's Committee for Social Responsibility have announced that they are to sponsor Mohanned Abu Diah, an aeronautics engineering student at King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, in recognition of his talents for robot innovation technology. Following a traffic accident several months ago that cost Abu Diah his right leg and his sight, the STC president stepped forward with financial and moral support to help him pursue his education and advance his research and inventions. Now STC has signed a contract with Abu Diah to finance his inventions and encourage his work. Abu Diah has 22 inventions to his name, the latest being a submarine capable of operating in all climates. He worked with the first Saudi scientific team at King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh engaged in the manufacturing of nuclear accelerators. Abu Diah has also set up a media center for scientific production, a company for specialist electronics and created a physics website in Arabic.
