Afghanistan beat Bermuda by 60 runs Thursday to win its second straight match in qualifying for the 2011 World Cup. Karim Khan hit 83 and Nowroz Mangal 71 in 77 balls to steer Afghanistan to 239-9 at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. Karim started well after the early loss of Shafiqullah for 2, and Nowroz was run out off the final ball of the innings as he shepherded the tail to a respectable total against some tight bowling. Rodney Trott took 2-33 in 10 overs and Janeiro Tucker claimed 2-44 in nine to be the best of Bermuda's bowlers. Afghanistan's Samiullah Shenwari then took 4-28 in seven overs, removing the middle order after Bermuda had reached 125-2. Glenn Blakeney top-scored for Bermuda with 68, while Steven Outerbridge got 62. Ireland crushed Oman by 116 runs in Krugersdorp after the Omanis were dismissed for 169 in under 38 overs, with Regan West taking 5-26 in 10 overs and Peter Connell 3-24 in less than five.
