Three Bangladeshis have been arrested for stealing SR250,000 from a Bangladeshi investor here from Dhaka on a business tour. One of the detained managed to befriend the investor and was invited to spend the night at his apartment, where he got to know where the investor had hid his money. The man woke up the next day to find his money gone. He reported the theft to the police, who took fingerprint samples from the apartment. At first it was assumed that a thief had entered the premises through a window, but lack of any evidence then led to the suggestion that he had entered via the door with his own copy of the key. Investigators focused on previous frequent visitors to the apartment, including the investor's supposed friend, and when they searched his keys they found the incriminating copy of the apartment key. The accused confessed to making a copy while his investor friend slept and to then enrolling two other friends to steal the money from the apartment.
