A dazzling run of seven successive birdies helped Denmark's Soren Kjeldsen take a one-shot lead after the Andalucia Open third round on Saturday. Kjeldsen also picked up a late eagle to break the Real Club course record, and his career-best score, by a stroke as a 10-under-par 62 earned a 14-under aggregate of 202. His target looked unassailable when he stood six shots clear but later he was almost caught by second-placed David Drysdale of Britain, who gained four strokes in the last three holes to return a 66. Briton Alastair Forsyth (68) and Spaniard Carlos Del Moral (69) shared third spot, four off the pace. Kjeldsen holed from 45-feet for an eagle three at the long 16th and was one birdie shy of the European Tour consecutive record of eight after starting his charge at the seventh hole. “I was so much in my zone I didn't realise I was on for equalling the record on the 14th,” Kjeldsen told reporters. After his form dipped following a second European victory, in the 2008 Volvo Masters at Valderrama, Kjeldsen sought the assistance of triple major champion Padraig Harrington's mental coach. Halfway leader Marcel Siem of Germany slumped six strokes off the pace with a 73. Colin Montgomerie carded a 75 for 214.
