day media workshop which trained young women in making films ended here Tuesday at the Nafisa Shams Academy of Arts and Crafts. Twenty-two young women, who participated as part of the development of youth project, were trained in script writing, photography, film editing, and film direction from experts in these fields. The general coordinator of the youth program, Dr. Abdul Wahab Noorwali, a professor at King Abdulaziz University, said that the program aims to foster self-development in young people. “This specialized training program will help them to become self-reliant,” he said, adding that training young people in making films gives them media skills which they can use to promote Saudi culture and traditions. “Some young men have already been trained and are presently working with media corporations and applying their skills in the best ways possible,” he explained. The main objectives of the training program included self-development, practice and application of skills, and confidence building, as well as serving the community and empowering young people and offering them the right tools to be successful in life.
