A delegation of 22 local officials from Ministry of Education, Connecting Classrooms' School Principals and teachers will represent Saudi Arabia at the two-day regional education conference in Kuwait beginning March 31. Plans to expand the British Council's successful Connecting Classrooms program in Mideast will be unveiled at the conference to be attended by 150 education professionals from around the region,” said Ahmed Menyawi, Media & PR Manager at British Council. The delegates will share experiences, focus on plans of the program in the region while celebrating success of school partnerships under the Connecting Classrooms Program. David Gardner, Program Manager, Curriculum Guidance and Support at the UK's Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA) will deliver the speech on creating global citizens in the 21st century at the conference and Dr. Ali Bubshait educational consultant, Gulf Arab States Research Center, will speak on education in the Gulf states and Kuwait in the 21st century. “Since the program was introduced in 2006 to build greater understanding and trust between different cultures more than 200 schools in the Middle East and the UK are working in 85 Connecting Classroom partnerships,” Menyawi said. “The delegates will have an opportunity to know about other British Council connecting classroom projects taking place around the world, identify common issues and examine future plans for Connecting Classrooms in the Middle East,” he said Connecting Classrooms is a global British Council school partnership program which focuses on young people and with sustainable partnerships builds an international dimension into education.
