The National Commercial Bank (NCB) has launched recently two new branches in the Eastern Province - one in Qateef and other in Dammam. Ayman Al-Tayyar, deputy executive manager and the branches network director, said “the opening of more branches is part of the bank's expansion plan amid growing demand from customers. He added that Ahad and Corniche branches are reflecting the new architectural design of the new branches. Al-Tayyar hoped that the opening of the two new branches will contribute in developing the bank's relationship with the costumers whether they are individuals or companies. “The two branches are going to provide the costumers all the advanced banking services - from financing to investment - which are in conformity with the Islamic banking rules and approved by the Shariah Committee of the bank.” Meanwhile, NCB has recently launched a workshop and training program titled “How to Start Your Own Home Based Business” in Riyadh for 20 trainees, in collaboration with the Women's Nahda Foundation. Engineer Mahmoud Al-Turkistani, NCB head of Community Service Unit, said the program would qualify the participating women and equip them with the necessary basic skills to launch their small home based business through training. It would help them sketch a clear idea of the project, carry out feasibility studies of the market, besides developing other skills needed to market their products through effective sales channels accessible from home. Al-Turkistani said the program would benefit the group of participating women through enhancing their management skills of small private businesses. He added that the trainees in the workshop would also learn how to research the market by conducting thorough insightful surveys, designing questionnaires and analyzing the market in order to start their own businesses. He added that “the program includes a variety of projects, such as event planning, public services, fashion design and special design and production of clothes for special needs people. __
