Drugs Unit and police in Al-Namas have detained 19 illegal overstayers and persons of unknown identity proceeding from Yemen and Ethiopia, their ages ranging from 12 to 80 years. The group was stopped Friday while traveling through the region of Shawas in a vehicle driven by a Saudi man who reportedly charged SR1,300 from each person to take them to Taif, and SR1,000 for Jeddah. The 19 individuals have been handed over to the relevant authorities and they now await deportation.
