Kharma has absolved a restaurant of any responsibility in the poisoning of 15 people from the same family and instead blamed the chef. The food poisoning occurred two months ago when a family ate at the restaurant and subsequently fell ill one by one with food poisoning, forcing them to be admitted to hospital. Investigations closed the restaurant as a precautionary measure and fined it for poor standards of cleanliness. Laboratory analyses eventually revealed that the family had not had food poisoning but instead had contracted germs from two of the cooks employed at the establishment.
