dead Indian expatriate has donated his organs to save the lives of nine Saudis requiring organ transplantation. The organs were removed in Riyadh and donated to patients in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. A lung transplant was performed on a woman in Jeddah suffering from lung fibrosis. Her husband, Ali Al-Oufi, said she had been ill for eight years and that doctors had decided to seek an organ for transplant one month ago. “Since then we had been waiting for a donor,” Al-Oufi said. “May Allah reward him.” Yaser Katto'ah, organ transplant coordinator at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, said the operation had been threatened with cancellation when the aircraft carrying the organ was hit by bad whether in Riyadh. “Fortunately,” he said, “the pilot managed to land the plane and bring the lung.”
