The Saudi Photography Association has announced that they have been officially informed to open nomination for the Prize of the President of the Republic of Tunisia on March 9. The Prize aims to focus on the principle of worldwide solidarity, understanding and cooperation between nations and people in the context of photography, and is seeking nominations from suitable candidates in the Kingdom. The SPA is hoping that Saudi associations and organizations that have artistic initiatives to contribute to this line of work to apply for nomination, as well as ordinary people with an interest in photography. However, those not applying through an association, will have to be nominated through the SPA after the status of their legal documents is confirmed. The Prize is of great value and significance as the winner will receive it from the President of the Republic of Tunisia himself, or somebody on his behalf, and the prize's financial worth is 25,000 Tunisian Dinar. SPA's chief Mohammad Balbaid has declared that a special committee has been formed to follow up the status of all candidates. SPA's members Abdullatif Al-Obaidaa, Abdulaziz Moshakhas, Abbas Al-Khamees and Suzan Ba-Aqeel have been assigned to all media-related representation. The deadline for submission in July 1, 2009.
