Shabab edged Al-Nasr 4-3 via penalty shootout to lift the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Cup at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Saturday. Al-Shabab's international goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah contributed to his side's victories as he saved two of Al-Nasr's shots before Al-Nasr's Hamad Al-Soqor's shot hit the woodwork. Prince Sultan Bin Fahd, Chairman, General Presidency of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation handed over the cup to Al-Shabab players while Al-Nasr team, which failed to defend its title, took the silver medals. Despite the scarcity in scoring chances, Al-Shabab was the better side in the whole match due to its team performance. Both teams applied a defensive approach to secure the defense. Abdo Atif and Brazilian Camacho struggled to create scoring chances for Al-Shabab strikers Nasser Al-Shamrani and Abdul Aziz Al-Saran. Al-Nasr, meanwhile, failed to create any threat on Waleed Abdullah's side as Brazilian Elton was not also in his usual form. After failing to open the scoring, the match went into extra-time which also ended barren. In the penalty shootout, Elton, Ibrahim Madkhali and Ahmed Al-Bhari scored for Al-Nasr while Brazilian Eder Gaucho, Ibrahim Sharahili and Hamad Al-Soqor missed. For Al-Shabab, Camatcho, Hassan Moaz, Nasser Al-Shamrani and Abdo Atif shot on target to seal the win. Al-Hilal holds the record for the titles won with seven cups, while Al-Shabab, Al-Nasr, Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ittifaq come second with three titles. __
