A philanthropist has offered to pay for all the medical expenses of the mother of a young thief on the condition he turns himself in to the authorities. Police in Al-Khorma are still investigating the case of a young man who broke into his teacher's house and stole SR1,500 while ignoring other sums of money and jewels. The thief followed his theft by writing a letter of apology to his teacher saying, without revealing his identity, that he had stolen the money to pay for his mother's medical bills. The teacher ignored the letter's pleas to not report the incident to the police. “Dear teacher,” the letter reads. “I am one of your students and my mother's state of health has forced me to steal SR1,500 from you. Please forgive me and don't report me to the police as I will return the stolen money at the end of the month.” The anonymous philanthropist has said he will pay the woman's medical fees for life and urged the thief to turn himself in to police, promising to hire a lawyer to defend him in court and assist his family financially.
