The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) will hold a one-day Saudi Events Industry Forum (SEIF) at King Faisal Hall at the InterContinental Hotel here, Saturday. Hamad Al-Sheikh, Chief of the Tourism Products and Events Department, said the forum will discuss ways to develop different tourism sectors in the country. “The forum is aimed at targeting the sectors that manage the Kingdom's tourism industry including the organization of festivals, conferences, exhibitions and other related activities,” he said. Around 300 event management experts are expected to participate in the forum, he said, adding that the SCTA welcomes all those interested to register through the forum's website: www.ksaevent.net. The deliberations in the forum will help the SCTA to realize its goal of developing national tourism, Al-Sheikh said. The annual forum helps the SCTA to improve communications between the tourism industry's partners in both the private and public sectors and to exchange experiences and information for developing a highly competitive local event management industry, Al-Sheikh said. The forum will present the best practices in events management based upon local and international experiences. The annual forum will also help to incorporate the latest technologies and trends in related fields, as well as specialized event management workshops, such as, managing adventure and sports events and managing cultural and heritage events across the Kingdom.
