Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Interior, has said that Crown Prince Sultan, who is undergoing medical treatment in the United States, “is in excellent health and completing some basic procedures.” Speaking by telephone from his residence in New York while on his visit to Crown Prince Sultan, Prince Naif also commented on the recent ministerial and judicial changes. “The public interest is the will of the King,” he said. “The King has selected citizens he regards as trustworthy.” Addressing the recent Baqee' incident, Prince Naif said the number of Sunnis arrested was no smaller than the number of Shiites arrested. “What happened involved offending the companions and the family of the Prophet (pbuh) through desecrating graves and removing soil, which is unacceptable.” On the ministry's decision to turn terrorist suspects to the court, Prince Naif said: “The actual trial of 991 suspects has begun.”
