Municipality working in a park in the neighborhood of Al- Mushrifah District to make it beautiful and greener. The municipality is using the best available techniques for irrigation of gardens and trees. It has established 100 concrete water reservoirs, spread over 128 parks and 28 streets in order to increase the city's green space. Jeddah is in need of about 15.73 million sq. meters of green space commensurate with its growing population. “The green space currently available in the city is less than 7.4 million sq. meters, and in order to meet global standards, Jeddah will have to provide an additional five square meters of green space for each of the city's residents. Global statistics indicate that we need to plant 17 trees for each car in the city,” said Bahjat Tal'at Hamouda, senior official of the general administration of parks, forestry and municipal utilities in Jeddah.
