The first labor market exhibition starting here Sunday aims to train students and new school graduates planning to enter the Saudi labor market. On its fringes, the four-day exhibition will also have several workshops to discuss the topics related to labor market. The exhibition will be held under the patronage of Ghazi Al-Gosaibi, Minister of Labor. The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has completed all preparations for the exhibition being organized with the cooperation of the Ministry of Labor and Human Resources Development Fund, said Mohammed Al-Harbi, executive manger of the human resources development council at the JCCI. About 100 Saudi companies will participate in the exhibition to show their latest achievements in the human resources and employment fields, JCCI officials said. “This exhibition is different from earlier job fairs organized by the JCCI,” Al-Harbi said. It will provide an opportunity for company owners and job seekers to have an open discussion about the labor market, he said. The theme of the exhibition is “Only for Saudis” and that comes as a first step after an agreement between the JCCI and the Ministry of Labor to increase the Saudization rate in the labor market. “The agreement is part of Ministry of Labor efforts to increase Saudization and reduce the number of non-Saudi employees in the market,” said Dr. Abdullah Bin Mahfooz JCCI Deputy Chairman. The exhibition is directed at job seekers, university students, company managers and officials, and employment offices.
