King Fahd Chair of Islamic Studies at London University on Thursday organized a symposium on dialogue between religions and civilizations. Noted scholar Dr. Mohammed Abdulhaleem said interfaith dialogue has enjoyed an enormous interest and support from King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who called for the world conference on dialogue held in Madrid in 2008. Dr. Abdulhaleem described the call as a new breakthrough in the history of interfaith dialogue. Dr. Ahmed Al-Dabian, director general of the Islamic Center in London, talked about the history of dialogue among world's great religions. He also stressed the Kingdom's interest in spreading tolerance and understanding between followers of world faiths emphasizing the importance of King Abdullah's call.
