Lelah Dork of the White Stable clinched the King Abdul Aziz Cup at the annual horse race held at King Abdul Aziz Equestrian Field at Al-Janadriya, near Riyadh, Friday. King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, handed over the trophy to Prince General Mit'eb Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Deputy Commander of the National Guard for Military Affairs, and Vice President of Al-Janadriya Festival's Supreme Committee. White Stable, which is owned by the sons of King Abdullah, dominated the annual event with five cups. It won the top spot cash prize worth SR400,000. It also clinched the second and third spots in the race. Lelah Dork, trained by Bandr Bin Saud Bin Rizaiq and ridden by Camilo Ospina, began the 1,600-meter race cautiously but showed its true colors in the last 100 yards when it overtook stablemate Moaahed, Alai Tawaeq of Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd and Amtar of the Blue Stable, which belongs to the sons of Prince Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Kabeer. Moaahed, ridden by Jairo Rendon, finished second. It was followed by its stablemate Abu Jafar and Ez Al-Sharaf of Al-Sharif Haza Al-Abdali. The race designed for first class domestic and imported horses had generated great interest among equestrian website writers. In other races, horse Wafida of Al-Faham Stable won the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman Cup. In the second race, Jaiz of White Stable won the Prince Abdullah Bin Jalawi Cup. Mutamadi of Nawaf Al-Mandeel won the 1,800-meter third race, while Sadiqat Al-Wad of Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd clinched the forth race for Prince Fahd Bin Jalawi Cup. The race for Prize of Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Mesad Cup was won by Reem Al-Tenhat of Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd, while Al-Mutrafah of Prince Faisal Bin Khaled's stables won the sixth race.
