The Shoura Council will soon discuss a bylaw governing the employment rights – working hours, vacations, etc. – of housemaids and other workers before voting on it and sending it to higher authorities for approval. Azeb Al-Musbil, a member of the Shoura Council, explained that the bylaw focuses on the rights of housemaids, farmers, and drivers as well as on the rights of their sponsors. The bylaw will make clear the legal relationship between employer and employee and provide a framework which can be used as a reference in case there is a legal dispute between them. Earlier, the Council of Ministers referred the bylaw to the Shoura Council for study asking members and consultants to submit their views, opinions and recommendations.
