Sayeed Ahmed Baba, Consul General of India, last week headed a consular team to Najran to inspect the offices of the outsourced agencies for passport and visa services. The Indian consular team assessed the agencies' functioning and suggested certain improvements for providing better and efficient services to the Indian community and Saudi friends. An open house session was also held to receive the representations and suggestions from the community. Consul General Baba appreciated the difficulties being faced by the community in many areas and decided to resume the consular visit to Najran once in three months. It was also decided to involve voluntary organizations functioning in Najran to pursue the cases of the community with the local authorities and sponsors based on an authorization given to them by the consulate on a case-by-case basis. A coordination committee has also been set up for the purpose which will interact with the consulate and the Indian community in the area.
