Saleh Bin Abdul Aziz Aal Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, is to attend the 21st Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Egypt starting March 8. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will patronize the four-day conference under the theme “Renewal of Islamic Thoughts.” Aal Al-Sheikh said the conference would discuss the current negative changes like extremism and terrorism appearing in Arab and Islamic nations. The conference will discuss the issue from six angles: Identifying the concepts of renewal of Islamic thought, the need for innovation, renewal of curriculum, models of innovation, fields of innovation and the obstacles in the renewal of Islamic thought and ways to combat it.
