The security authorities in Afif arrested at dawn Thursday three people involved in the shooting of a man at the gate of Dhulam Police Station on Wednesday. The authorities in Taif were able to locate one of the gunmen by following the signals from his mobile telephone. It turned out that he was near one of the towns of Northern Afif and through coordination with the police, they were able to arrest him within a short time and hand him over to Taif Police. The remaining two gunmen were also arrested a short time later. The man who was shot is still in the Intensive Care Unit of Afif Hospital and is recuperating. Muhammad Al-Dhelay'iy, Director of Public Relations in the hospital, said the injured man underwent an emergency 3-hour operation to remove some of his intestines. The surgery was conducted by Dr. Nazeeh Yazji, consultant surgeon. Maj. Turki Al-Shihri, Spokesperson of Taif Police, said the man is in stable condition and investigations are going on. According to sources, the shooting incident in front of the gate of Dhulam Police Station took place as a result of disagreements among a group of citizens in a village north of Dhulam about four days ago. The village dispute developed into a shooting incident in which nobody was hurt. Dhulam Police conducted investigations after arresting several people involved in the case. While the relatives of those who were being held were visiting the police station on Wednesday to follow up the case, another shooting incident took place in which the man, who is currently in the hospital, was injured.
