The Saudi Electrical Company's board of directors approved contracts worth SR2.828 billion to tie up several of the Kingdom's regions with one huge power grid. The new projects will connect Madina with Qassim in an integrated power grid, while projects to complete the Western and Southern regions will be completed. Ali Al-Barrak, SEC's CEO, told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said the two projects will insure power generation capacity reserves for those regions, and will be part of a larger project for a nationwide integrated power grid. He added that the Madina-Qassim tie-up will facilitate the exchange of 1,000 megawatts between the two regions. __
