Thirteen guests at a hotel in Runyah suffered burn injuries and suffocation, with four of them in critical condition, after a fire broke out in one of the hotel's suites on Thursday. The four critical patients suffered second-degree burns and were transferred to King Abdullah Hospital in Beeshah. Civil Defense firefighters and Red Crescent paramedics at the scene knocked down the suite's doors and rescued nine guests who suffered suffocation. They were were transferred to Runyah's General Hospital. A number of people participated in the two-hour rescue, which was slow due to the hotel's lack of emergency exits and the firefighters' outdated ladders. The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. __
