A well-known investor has been referred to the Commission for Investigation and Prosecution (CIP) in Jizan for threatening the supervisors of a rural complex in Al-Shaqeeq with a cleaver while his team was monitoring violations on the beach. According to Ahmad Abbas, a supervisor, investors illegally erected a number of tents with the aim of reserving locations on the beach depriving visitors a siting place on the beach. When the supervisors started confiscating some of the tents, the investor wielding a cleaver threatened and abused them. The complex workers also maintained a safe distance for fear of being attacked, Ahmad Abbas said. The investor forcibly took the tents out of the rural complex's truck. The supervisors were forced to call security authorities who referred the investor to the CIP. Abdul Aziz Al-Sha'bi, head of the rural complex in Al-Shaqeeq, said the complex officials regularly monitor tents without occupants and confiscate them. In another development, Capt. Ahmad Al-Wad'ani, spokesman of Najran Region Police, said on receiving a report that one of the investors was threatening the employees of the rural complex, Al-Shaqeeq police sent a team and the cleaver wielder was taken into custody and procedures are being completed to refer him to the Commission for Investigation and Prosecution.
