JANOUB - Residents of a town 130 km north of Najran have been waiting for the completion of a hospital which was set to open four years ago. Citizens of Badr Al-Janoub are still forced to drive over 200 km across mountain passes to other cities to receive medical attention. “Roads like Aqabat Kherah Road and Wadi Saihan Road are precarious and many people have died using them,” said Ali Mane'a Al-Umar, a local school principal. “There are 20,000 residents in the area, and they were delighted at the prospect of the hospital, but the contractor has now missed the deadline by four years, dashing everyone's hopes in the process,” he said.
