Ahli and Al-Noor remained unbeaten at the 11th Asian Clubs Handball Championship after winning their second-round matches here on Thursday. Host Al-Ahli beat Kuwait's Al-Fehaheel 28-26 in their Group B match, while Al-Noor recorded a 36-30 win over Al-Sadd of Qatar in a Group A match at the Indoor Hall of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare (GPYW). Eight teams are competing in two groups. Two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals while the remaining teams play for the remaining places to complete the standings. Al-Ahli stormed into the lead from the start and dominated the first half which saw the host team shoot into 15-8 lead. A huge number of fans was at hand to cheer the host team players. The Kuwaiti team managed to reduce the margin but the experience of Al-Ahli players helped sealed the win for the host in the last minute. Al-Fehaheel was also short of a player after Saad Al-Azmi received a red card during the second half action. Ahmed Yanbawi of Al-Ahli believed that the Fehaheel clash was one of its best during the competition. “We put on an outstanding performance and if we keep it up we will win the title,” Yanbawi said. Meanwhile, the second Saudi representative Al-Noor found the going smooth in its 36-30 win over Al-Sadd of Qatar. The Eastern Province club went to the second half with a 16-13 lead before continuing on the same rhythm to seal the win. In other matches, Al-Sadd of Lebanon won 32-29 over Ahli of Qatar while Al-Qadissiyah of Kuwait and Foolaz of Iran drew 29-29. On Friday, Ahli of Qatar plays its country side Al-Sadd while Al-Noor meets Al-Sadd of Lebanon in Group A. In Group B matches host Ahli of Jeddah faces Foolaz while Kuwaiti Al-Qadissiyah plays country rival Al
