Yemen says it has handed over an alleged Saudi Al-Qaeda operative to Saudi authorities. The Yemeni Interior Ministry says Ahmed Owaidan Al-Harbi was repatriated to Saudi Arabia Thursday, 20 days after his arrest in eastern Yemen. In a statement, the ministry described Al-Harbi as “wanted” by Saudi authorities. On Tuesday, Yemen extradited a former Saudi Guantanamo detainee turned Al-Qaeda operative in Yemen back to Saudi Arabia. Yemen has said Abu Al-Hareth Muhammad Al-Oufi surrendered himself to authorities. On Wednesday, Ministry of Interior Spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said Saudi Arabia's rehabilitation program for militants and ex-Guantanamo prisoners was working effectively. “The return of Al-Oufi proves the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program,” he said. “The program is capable of helping those (ex-militants) realize the truth that they were being abused by the terrorist groups.”
