Patrick Marleau scored two goals and Evgeni Nabokov made 24 saves as the San Jose Sharks snapped their three-game winless streak with a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL on Tuesday. Joe Thornton also scored, and Joe Pavelski extended his goal-scoring streak to four games as the Sharks finally figured out how to beat longtime nemesis Dwayne Roloson, the Edmonton goalie who's been responsible for several of San Jose's most significant home losses over the past four seasons. Marleau, the Sharks' captain and All-Star center, scored the go-ahead goal short-handed on a setup pass from Mike Grier early in a fight-filled second period. Zack Stortini and Erik Cole scored first-period goals for the Oilers, whose three-game winning streak was snapped. Roloson made 27 saves for the Oilers. Panthers 4, Devils 0: At Sunrise, Florida, Tomas Vokoun stopped 36 shots for his fifth shutout of the season as Florida snapped New Jersey's seven-game road winning streak. The shutout was the eighth of the season for the Panthers, tying Columbus for most in the league. Stephen Weiss, Richard Zednik, Nathan Horton and Cory Stillman scored for the Panthers, who improved to 13-4-3 since Jan. 1 and moved into sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Zednik and Weiss both added an assist, while Michael Frolik and David Booth each had two assists. Scott Clemmensen made 24 saves for New Jersey. Blackhawks 5, Lightning 3: At Tampa, Florida, Jonathan Toews scored twice and Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists as Chicago withstood the first career hat trick by Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos. Bruins 5, Hurricanes 1: At Raleigh, North Carolina, David Krejci had a short-handed goal and an assist as Boston snapped a season-worst four-game losing streak with a win over Carolina. Avalanche 3, Senators 2, OT: At Denver, Wojtek Wolski scored off his own rebound 80 seconds into overtime to lift Colorado over Ottawa. Sabres 4, Maple Leafs 1: At Toronto, Drew Stafford scored twice as Buffalo beat Toronto to move into a tie for fifth in the Eastern Conference. Canucks 4, FLames 3, SO: At Calgary, Alberta, Ryan Kesler scored twice and Pavol Demitra had the shootout winner as Vancouver edged Calgary. Miikka Kiprusoff had 40 saves for Calgary and Luongo had 38 for the Canucks.
