“The new judicial changes reflect a positive advancement for human rights and justice for every citizen, expatriate and visitor to the Kingdom,” said Majed Bin Mohammad Qaroub, President of the National Committee for Lawyers in the Saudi Chamber Council. “There only remains for the establishment of the First Grade Courts and the Appeal Courts in the Specialized Courts, which are currently the General, Criminal, Commercial and Civil Status Courts,” he said. Qaroub asked the new Minister of Justice, Muhammed Al-Issa, to give the official ministerial recognition to the National Committee for Lawyers as soon as possible to allow it to help motivate lawyers to develop the judicial sector. Qaroub also asked for limitations on the practice of law to ensure only licensed lawyers are allowed to work.
