American Dustin Johnson clinched his second PGA Tour title when the final round of the weather-hit Pebble Beach National Pro-Am was washed out on Monday. No play was possible on Sunday because of heavy rain and strong winds on the Pebble Beach Golf Links and organizers abandoned play on Monday morning with the course under water. It was the first PGA Tour event decided after 54 holes since Phil Mickelson won the 2005 BellSouth Classic. “Any time you win it opens up lots of doors for you as far as moving you up on the money list and getting the two-year (Tour) exemption,” a beaming Johnson told reporters after climbing to a career-high 45th in the world rankings. “I was fortunate enough to play really well this week.” The 68-man field had been scheduled to tee off at 0730 local time (1530 GMT) on Monday but, after start times were pushed back an hour, the tournament was finally called off. Johnson led second-placed Canadian Mike Weir by four shots on Saturday after a five-under-par 67 gave him a 15-under total of 201. The 24-year-old American, who clinched his maiden victory at the 2008 Turning Stone Resort Championship in his rookie season, earned the winner's check of $1.09 million and a debut at the US Masters in April. “Winning this tournament means a lot,” said the South Carolina native. “It's always been a dream for me to go there and I'm very excited about that, especially only being about 45 minutes from where I grew up. I couldn't be more happy.”
