Prince Mansour Bin Mit'eb Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, is scheduled to hold a workshop soon on the safe operation of the Jamarat Bridge for the next Haj season. The two-day workshop, organized by the Central Administration for Developmental Projects and with contributions from international and local experts, will evaluate the last Haj and start early preparations for improved safety and security at the holy sites. The Undersecretary of the ministry is expected to speak on the success of the 2008 Haj, and a second session will discuss pilgrim routes, vehicle movement, the shuttle trips in the Mina area, ways to increase safety at Jamarat Bridge and the distribution of pilgrims along roads and on Jamarat Bridge's tiers. A third session will discuss measuring and redirecting the flow of pilgrims at Jamarat, while the fourth session will address transportation at Mina and the planning for Jamarat fields and roads.
