Dr. Abdullah Bin Muhammad Aal Al-Sheikh, the newly appointed Chairman of the Shoura Council, has said his appointment will not hinder his work in implementing Islamic Shariah Law, but instead reflects the completion of his work at the ministry. Aal Al-Sheikh said the implementation of Shariah Law was one of the most important roles of the judiciary and described the Shoura Council as an applied aspect of implementing Shariah, although a new one for world communities. He praised the council's success in advancing the Shoura's work and making it a source of admiration for international parliaments. Speaking of his new post, he said: “I am proud of the confidence shown in me by the ruler. I'm preparing to work with everyone to march forward with my colleagues in the Shoura Council.” King Abdullah will inaugurate the new, and fifth, session of the Shoura Council in two weeks' time once the new chairman and members take the oath.
