Council of Senior Ulema reconstituted

The Council of Senior Ulema (CSU) was restructured as part of a broad government reshuffle on Saturday. Royal decrees issued by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, made new appointments and extended the tenures of officials.
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Aal Al-Sheikh continues as chairman of the CSU.
Following are the CSU members:
Sheikh Saleh Bin Mohammed Al-Lehaidan, Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdulrahman Al-Hussein, Sheikh Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Humaid, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghedayyan, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Bin Muni', Sheikh Dr. Saleh Bin Fauzan Al-Fawzan, Sheikh Dr. Abdulwahab Bin Ibrahim Abu Solaiman, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Aal Al-Sheikh, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Seir Mubaraki, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Mutlaq, Sheikh Dr. Yaqub Bin Abdulwahab Bin Yousef Al-Bahussein, Sheikh Dr. Abdulkarim Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Al-Khudair, Sheikh Dr. Ali Bin Abbas Bin Othman Hakami, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saad Al-Khaneen, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Bin Mohammad Al-Mukhtar Mohamed, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hassan Bin Abdulrahman Bin Abdullatif Aal Al-Sheikh, Sheikh Dr. Saad Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Shathri, Sheikh Dr. Qais Bin Mohammed Bin Abdullatif Aal Al-Sheikh Mubarak, and Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Issa.
With the exception of the chairman, the term of office for CSU members will be four years effective 6-3-1430 Hijra.
The tenure of the following officials of the Excellent Grade, who are regular members of the Permanent Committee for Research and Fatwa, an affiliate of the Commission of Senior Ulema, has been extended:
Dr. Saleh Bin Fauzan Al-Fawzan (extension effective from 3-3-1430 Hijra), Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghedeyyan (from 3-3-1430 H), Dr. Ahmad Seir Mubaraki (3-3-1430 H), Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saad Al-Khinein (6-3-1430 H), and Dr. Saad Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Shithri (6-03-1430 H).
Dr. Abdel-Wahab Bin Ibrahim Abu Suleiman, member of the Council of Senior Scholars, got an extension from 03-03-1430 H. Also retained was Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hassan Bin Abdul Aziz Bin Abdel-Latif Aal Al-Sheikh.
Royal Court Advisers
Sheikh Abdullah Suleiman Al-Munea Abdulmohsen Nasir Al-Obeikan was appointed as Royal Court adviser at the rank of minister.
Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutlaq, who was also named Royal Court adviser, will continue as full-time member of the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta.
Abdulaziz Bin Ali Al-Zubin and Fahd Bin Abdullah Al-Askar were appointed as Royal Court advisers with Excellent Rank.
New ministers
The Royal Decree relieves Dr. Abdullah Bin Saleh Al-Obaid, Minister of Education from his post upon his request. Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Saud has been appointed in his place.
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Issa, Deputy Chief of the Grievances Court, was relieved of his post and appointed Minister of Justice, replacing Sheikh Abdullah Bin Muhammad Aal Al-Sheikh.
Dr. Hamad Bin Abdullah Al-Mane', Minister of Health, was relieved of his post upon his request and replaced by Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Rabea.
Iyad Bin Amin Madani, Minister of Culture and Information, was relieved of his post upon his request. Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Mohieddin Al-Khoja takes over the ministry.
Additional changes as part of the reshuffle in ministries are as follows:
Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Al-Muammar was appointed as Deputy Education Minister at the rank of minister.
Prince Dr. Khalid Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Meqrin Al-Mishari Al-Saud, Deputy Minister of Education for Girls' Affairs, was relieved of his post at his request. He was replaced at the Excellent Rank by Noura Bint Abdullah Bin Musaed Al-Fayez, who became the first woman to occupy a ministerial post in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Saeed Bin Mohammed Al-Mileis, Deputy Minister of Education for Boys Affairs was relieved from his post at his request, and Dr. Khalid Bin Abdullah Bin Ibrahim Al-Sabti replaced him at the Excellent Rank.
Judiciary reshuffle
The following appointments are at the rank of minister:
Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Humeid, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council at the rank of a minister.
The Royal Decree relieved Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Aal Al-Sheikh from his post as Minister of Justice, and appointed him as Chairman of the Shoura (Consultative) Council.
Sheikh Abdulrahman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Colleyia was named Chairman of the Supreme Court at ministerial rank.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Fahd Bin Saad Al-Dosari was appointed as President of the Supreme Administrative Court at the rank of minister.
Supreme Judicial Council
Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Humeid, Chairman of the Supreme Court .
Sheikh Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Ghezzi, Sheikh Fahd Abdulaziz Fahd Al-Faris, Sheikh Ahmed Abdulmajeed Al-Ghamdi, and Shiekh Dhafir Mohammed Hafir Al-Qarni, all full-time members with the rank of Chief of Court of Appellate.
Also made members of the Supreme Court with the rank of Chief of Court of Appellate (effective 3-3-1430 H) are: Hijra Ghaihab Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ghaihab, Nasir Ibrahim Nasir Al-Habeeb, Suleiman Mohammed Mosa Al-Mosa, Shafi Dhafir Naji Al-Haqbani, Abdul Aziz Saleh Abdul Aziz Al-Humayed, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Beaadi, Hamad Turki Mohammed Al-Meqbel, Suleiman Abdulrahman Suleiman Al-Samahan, and Saleh Abdulrahman Suleiman Al-Muhaimeed.
Virtue Commission
The King relieved Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Abdullah Al-Ghaith, President of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, at his own request. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Humayen Al-Humayen takes over from Al-Ghaith.
Grievances Court
Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Amin Al-Shanqiti, Chief of Grievances Court, was relieved of his post at his request and replaced by Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Shayie Bin Abdullah Al-Haqil at the rank of minister.
Sheikh Ali Bin Abdulrahman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Hammad was appointed Deputy Chief of Grievances Court at the rank of Chief of Appellate Court.
Human Rights Commission
Turki Khalid Al-Sudeiri, who had asked to be relieved from his post as Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Human Rights, was replaced by Bandar Mohammed Abdullah Al-Aiban.
SAMA
Dr. Mohammed Bin Suleiman Bin Mohammed Al-Jasser was appointed as Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) at the rank of minister.
Military appointments
Lieut. Gen. Hussein Bin Abdullah Al-Qabil, Commander of Land Forces, was appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff. Major General Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah Al-Murshid was promoted to the rank of Commander of the Land Forces.
Bandar Abdulmohsin Musaad Al-Qanawi was named CEO of the National Guards Health Affairs at the rank of Excellent Grade.
Other appointments
Dr. Adnan Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Wazan, Director of Umm Al-Qura University, was relieved from his post upon his request. Dr. Waleed Hussein Mohammed Abu Al-Faraj was appointed in his place.
Shiekh Dr. Abdul Aziz Mohamed Al-Abdul Munem, Secretary General of the Council of Senior Scholars was relieved from his post upon his request and Sheikh Dr. Fahd Saad Al-Majed was appointed in his place.
Dr. Mohammed Bin Ahmad Bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Kanhal was appointed as Executive President of the General Commission for Food and Medicine at the Excellent Rank.
