Olympic 110 meters hurdles champion Dayron Robles of Cuba will miss the rest of the indoor season after aggravating a thigh injury during a race in France, state-run media said on Thursday. The 22-year-old world record holder will return to Havana for treatment with the aim of being ready for the World Championships in Berlin in August, officials said. The bespectacled athlete hurt his left thigh while running the 60 meters hurdles in Lievin on Tuesday. He had earlier canceled appearances in two meets due to the leg problem. On Thursday he withdrew from the Grand Prix meeting to be held in Birmingham, England on Feb. 21, organizers said. Robles holds the world record time of 12.87sec in the 110-m hurdles and won the gold medal in the event in Beijing. Bolt opens season with 400m Beijing Olympic triple gold medalist Usain Bolt will begin his 2009 season in Jamaica Saturday by running the 400 meters at the Camperdown Track and Field Classic to assess his fitness level. Bolt set world records in winning the 100m gold in 9.69 seconds and the 200m title in 19.30 and then helped Jamaica to 4x100m relay gold. He is looking at his one-lap race at National Stadium as part of his training regimen. “It's pretty much training,” Bolt said. “I am just going there to run and feel where I am in my programme. It's not about achieving anything special.” Since his Beijing heroics, Bolt has travelled around the world and said he thinks that has contributed slightly to his unawareness of his current form.
