World number one Rafael Nadal needed three sets to beat Bulgarian teenager Grigor Dimitrov 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 on Thursday and reach the quarterfinals of the World Indoor Tournament. Dimitrov conquered the hearts of the 9,000 spectators as he won the second set but in the third Nadal proved too strong. World number four Andy Murray beat Italian baseliner Andreas Seppi 7-6, 7-5 in the second round. Murray next meets Marc Gicquel, who came into the tournament after the withdrawal of Robin Soderling. Gicquel reached the last eight by defeating fellow Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-4, 6-3. Zvonareva sails thru In Thailand, top-seeded Vera Zvonareva overpowered Yaroslava Shedova of Kazakhstan 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday to reach the WTA's Pattaya Open quarterfinals. Almagro, Robredo thru Defending champion Nicolas Almagro reached the Brazil Open quarterfinals for a fourth straight year by beating Martin Vassallo Arguello of Argentina 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday. Almagro led four Spaniards into the last eight, including second-seeded Tommy Robredo. In the quarterfinals Almegro will meet Frederico Gil of Portugal, who upset fifth-seeded Marcel Granollers of Spain 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
