Four hundred and fifty jobs will be set aside in the first phase of the Saudization plan for the tourism industry in 149 hotels and furnished apartments, according to Dr. Jasser Al-Harbash, executive manager of the tourism sector in Qassim. “The committee responsible for Saudization of the tourism profession has shown its plan to Prince Dr. Faisal Mish'al, Deputy Emir of Qassim and head of the tourism development committee, and he has shown great interest in it,” said Dr. Al-Harbash. “Since hotels, furnished apartments and travel agencies have become part of the committee's responsibility, the committee has cooperated with all the concerned partners,” said Dr. Al-Harbash, “because we believe that tourism is a field offering the largest number of job vacancies.” The committee's plan includes four stages. The first stage is to announce job vacancies and carry out an awareness campaign. The second stage is to calculate the number of job vacancies while the third is nominating applicants for the jobs. The fourth stage is to train those selected for the jobs before they start to work. Dr. Al-Harbash explained that the Labor Office has found job vacancies in hotels and furnished apartments and is calculating the Saudization percentage of each company. He pointed out that the Human Resources Fund is responsible for the trainees' salaries and pays half of the employee's salaries for a year.
