Nasr qualified to the final of the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Cup after edging Al-Ittihad 1-0 in the semifinal on Wednesday. Brazilian midfielder Elton Xavier sealed the victory for Riyadh-based club as he blasted a late free kick into Al-Ittihad's net. Earlier on Tuesday, Al-Shabab booked its seat in the final after a 5-3 win over its home rival Al-Hilal at the King Fahd International Stadium. The final's date will be decided later but it will be held in Riyadh where the two finalists are based. Al-Nasr won the last Cup after beating Al-Hilal in the final 2-1, thanks to Xavier and Rayan Bilal goals. Both sides failed to pose any real threat in the first half due to the absence of some international players who have joined the Saudi national team camp in Japan. In his first appearance for Al-Nasr, former Tottenham midfielder Egyptian Hossam Ghaly teamed with Omani Hassan Rabia and Al-Wehdah's striker Alaa Al-Kuwaikibi who joined the team recently. Al-Ittihad strikers Emad Meteb and Naif Hazazi were both marked by Al-Nasr defenders and failed to create any trouble for goalkeeper Khaled Radhi. Al-Nasr was quite improved after the break and almost took the lead in the 62nd minute when Elton sent the ball to Rabia but the Omani player's attempt to score beat Mabrouk Zaid but defender Hamad Al-Mountashiri cleared the ball on time. Al-Nasr pressed forward powered by the trio of Elton, Ghaly and Al-Kuwaikibi. In the 88th minute, Elton sent a 25-yard shot that hit the far left corner of the net of Zaid to seal the victory for the defending champion at a crucial time.
