The Saudi Hollandi Bank announced the appointment of Abdullah Al-Hassan as the General Manager of Banking Operations. Al-Hassan was promoted to the senior management level in view of his distinguished academic track record as well as his wide managerial and operational experience spanning 28 years in the banking industry. During this period, he filled in many executive slots, including that of Assistant General Manager Banking Operations, a position he had held since 2005. Geoff Calvert, managing director of SHB, said “the new appointment is in line with the Bank's strategy to boost Saudization by enabling Saudi citizens to reach leading positions in the Bank,” he said. “Saudization is a top priority of the bank, where the Saudization ratio currently stands at 86 percent.” Al-Hassan earned a BSC in Financial and Banking Sciences from Hartford University in Minnesota. He started his career in the banking industry in 1981 and has worked with a number of different banks in the Kingdom in various executive capacities before joining SHB. __
