Several buildings in Bani Malik District in Jeddah have recently been demolished to facilitate the expansion of Prince Majed Street. In all 25 buildings have been acquired for the purpose. The expansion of the Prince Majed Street is part of the campaign for beautification of Jeddah that includes constructions of bridges, underpasses, flyovers and new roads to ease the traffic flow on about 68 locations of the city.
