Taifi, the suspect detained this week in Pakistan for his alleged role in the London terrorist attacks, is not a Saudi national, Ali Aawwad Asiri, the Kingdom's Ambassador to Pakistan, has said. The suspect, reports said, claimed to be a Saudi national during interrogation after his arrest in Peshawar on Wednesday, Al-Watan Arabic daily said. Pakistani authorities arrested Al-Taifi along with six others including Arabs in a raid on Wednesday. The raid was carried out with the help of the Central Intelligence Agency. All the suspects are believed to be members of the Al-Qaeda network. Officials in the Pakistani security forces said US investigators were present during the arrest and a pilotless plane flew over the suspects' houses before and during the raid. Senior officials of Pakistan's security forces said the seven suspects did not resist arrest during the raid in the country's northwest city in the tribal area near the borders of Afghanistan. __
