The term of Jeddah Mayor Adel Faqeeh has been extended by four years starting Jan. 22, a Royal Court statement said. Faqeeh, a prominent businessman and formerly chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, became mayor in March 2005. He is chairman and managing director of the Savola Group. He is also chairman and board member of a number of other companies including Saudi Arabian Glass Company, Al-Jazeera Bank, Al-Marai and United Sugar Company.
