King Saud University is encouraging its overweight students to lose weight by offering cash incentive through a program dubbed “Lose a kilo and gain SR6.” SMS messages sent by the Deanship of Students Affairs have urged male students to register at Al-Dera'iah campus and female students at Elaisha and Al-Malaz campuses through Monday. However, there's no such incentives for teachers. According to a study, 40 percent of teachers are overweight, 24.3 percent obese and 29.6 percent are on diet.
