The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) has joined with other government offices to solve the mystery of the disappearance 30 years ago of a Yemeni national in the Kingdom, said NSHR chairman Meflih Al-Qahtani. The NSHR has acted on a complaint it received about the disappearance of Saleh Al-Shadadi, who arrived in the Kingdom in 1979 and has not been seen or heard of since. Al-Shadadi legally entered the Kingdom through Khadra entry point on the border with Yemen, said his brother Abdullah Al-Shadadi. The last information the family had about him was that he had moved to Manfooha in Riyadh and worked as an electrician. “In 1981, I arranged to perform Haj with him, but when it was time for Haj, he was nowhere to be found,” Abdullah said. Their mother died just one year after Saleh went missing, he said. “She died without ever realizing her hope of seeing him again, but I am going to keep looking for my brother,” he said. The family has spent over SR400,000 looking for their lost son across the Kingdom, he said.
