The Appeals Court in Riyadh has endorsed a General Court's verdict to sentence two Saudi nationals to three years in prison and 720 lashes each for the theft of the cellphones and wallets of two boys. A police statement said that one boy reported the theft to the police saying that two men stopped him in the street and took his cell phone and fled away in a small car. His report was soon followed by another one from a young victim who also reported a forced theft of his cell phone and SR500 in his wallet, the statement said Friday. The boy gave the same descriptions of the two thieves the first boy had earlier given to the police. The police surveyed suspected areas in the district where the thefts took place and arrested the thieves and referred them to court. During their trial, the thieves admitted their guilt.
