World number one Lorena Ochoa tightened her grip on the opening women's major of the year, moving one stroke clear in the Kraft Nabisco Championship third round on Saturday. Co-leader overnight with American playing partner Heather Young, Mexican Ochoa eked out a one-under-par 71 in strengthening winds at Mission Hills Country Club. The 26-year-old reeled off three consecutive birdies from the par-four 10th to shake off the chasing pack before ending a gruelling day with a three-putt bogey at the last. That left Ochoa at six-under 210 in pursuit of her second major title. South Korea's Han Hee-won carded a 70 to lie second at five under, a stroke in front of compatriot Lee Seon-hwa (68), American Cristie Kerr (66) and Swede Maria Hjorth (72). Three-time champion Annika Sorenstam of Sweden, battling stomach pain for the second day in a row, ground out a 73 to share ninth spot at two under. Ochoa, bidding for her third victory in four starts on the 2008 LPGA Tour, birdied the par-five second after reaching the green in two and two-putting to briefly edge ahead by one. However, she bogeyed the par-four third after finding the right rough off the tee and ending up short of the green in two to slip back to five under. Young, who parred the first eight holes, forged one stroke clear after rolling in a 24-footer to birdie the par-five ninth before Ochoa regained control after the turn.Wagner maintains slim lead In Texas, American Johnson Wagner fired a three-under 69 Saturday as he maintained his lead heading into the final round of the $5.6 million PGA Houston Open. The 28-year-old Wagner moved to 15-under 201 and has a slim one-stroke lead over Chad Campbell who shot 65 in the third round. Bob Estes had the low round of the day (64) to get within three shots. Fred Couples, who was in a tie for 36th, pulled even with six others for 10th by signing for a 67. Phil Mickelson, who is the highest-ranked player in the field, carded a one-under 71 and is tied for 22nd with a 211. __
