Police raided a building in Manfooha district here and arrested 150 African illegals suspected of robbery and theft. Seized from them were SR42,290 in cash, cleavers, pocket-razors, 16 knives, 5 hammers, car rims, 32 mobile phones and women's purses. The raid was conducted on the instruction of Riyadh Emir Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz. Residents in the area had reported about increasingly being robbed by people who carried knives and hammers. Led by Riyadh Police chief Major Gen. Abdullah Al-Shahrani and Riyadh Police Patrol Commander, Brig. Gen. Saud Bin Abdull Aziz Al-Hallal, police patrols searched the entire district as well as several other suspected locations. Last Wednesday 52 others of the suspected gang were apprehended in the districts at the crossroads of Al-Taif and Al-Esh'reen. Police patrols had noticed 16 people who matched reported descriptions grouping at the crossroads. Several of them fled into a nearby building. Police ringed and raided the place, arresting 52 African illegals in all, who were living in huts on the roof. Manfooha Police is conducting an extensive investigation and comparing descriptions of other cases of armed robbery, drug dealing, purse snatching, and other thefts. According to preliminary investigations the suspects were illegals in possession of forged documents. __
